Dangerous Goods by Air – Basic

The Basic course on Dangerous Goods by Air leads to the Dangerous Goods by Air certificate, which is required by law for the A, B, C or E recognition for air transport dangerous goods issued by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.

For whom
The course is intended for employees of consignors, agents, cargo handlers and airlines, who are engaged in preparing or checking hazardous materials to be transported by air.

Duration of the course
The basic course takes 4 days and is spread over two or four consecutive weeks.

Preliminary training
Common sense, good knowledge of the English language and motivation is all that is required to successfully complete this course.

Course materials
The course is taught using the latest edition of the English-language IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, the manual used in practice by the aviation industry for the air transport of dangerous goods. This manual will be given to participants on loan for the duration of the course. In addition, each participant receives a comprehensive course book, which clearly discusses and explains the subject matter in the Dutch language. This course book contains a large number of exercises that prepare the student for the exam.

Location
Courses are taught by experienced hands-on instructors at one of our training locations or in-company when desired.

Certification
Participants who pass the exam with a result of at least 70% receive a certificate recognized by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (Inspectorate for the Environment and Transport) for categories 1, 3 and 6.
When desired (with a pass rate of at least 80%), registration with IATA in Montreal can also take place. However, there are costs associated with this registration.
