As of Jan. 1, 2023, a new law change goes into effect, stating that as of Jan. 1, employees with Security Awareness certifications are no longer allowed to enter unescorted into an area where identifiable air cargo is present. Unescorted access to this area requires an Air Cargo Officer certificate as of the above date.
We have received word from the NCTV that this change means so much that anyone with an SA certificate must take the 4-hour basic Air Cargo Officer training.
What does this change mean for your organization?
Meanwhile, our customers have been informed and a suitable solution will be found to train SA employees as soon as possible, and in any case before January 1, 2023, to become Air Cargo Officer. Employee Air Freight training can be taken at Special Cargo classroom, blended or in-company.
Validity of VOG
Please note: In order to attend the Air Cargo Officer training, your employees must possess a valid VOG. A valid VOG issued between June 30, 2019 and May 1, 2022 is also valid until June 30, 2024 for the air cargo employee while working in the area where identifiable air cargo is present. VOGs issued after May 1, 2022 are no longer adequate for the work of an Air Cargo Officer in this space and must be replaced with a VGB.
Do you have any questions about the above message and its impact on your organization? If so, please contact us. We will be happy to advise you further.
