The Screener Air Cargo training leads to the Screener Air Cargo certificate. This is acknowledged by the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV) and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. The training is based on the National Civil Aviation Security Program (NCASP).
For whom
The training is designed for employees who must conduct screening on:
- air cargo from consignors not registered in the European database
- suspicious cargo or cargo that has been tampered with

Topics covered include:
- Background of terrorism, particularly sabotage devices including lmprovised Explosive Devices
- Counterterrorism measures. Key topics include cargo document review, performing risk analysis, physical security, screening of air cargo, cargo handling procedures
- Tasks and responsibilities of (government) organizations involved in air cargo security, such as Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, Ministry of Justice
- Air cargo screening equipment

- Duration: two days (basic); one half-day (refresher); three hours (e-learning refresher)

- To participate in the Screener Air Cargo, you must hold a valid VGB (Certificate of no objection)
