As a company, you can receive the so-called SOOB subsidy for taking certain courses to become an ADR driver (among others). In this way, this foundation encourages training in the transportation and logistics sector. Special Cargo is a certified trainer for this type of grant process. To qualify for it, you must go through several steps.

Certified trainer

The transportation and logistics sector has a great need for well-trained employees. That is why the SOOB (Stichting Opleidings- en Ontwikkelingsfonds Beroepsgoederenvervoer) provides subsidies for taking certain training courses.
The SOOB is part of the Transport and Logistics Sector (STL). STL has awarded SCS Training & Consultancy BV (brand name: Special Cargo College) the certificate ‘certified trainer Transport & Logistics’. This means that our organization and our training courses meet the requirements for granting the SOOB subsidy.

ADR training at Special Cargo

Employers affiliated with the SOOB may qualify for a subsidy of Special Cargo’s ADR driver training programs. It is provided for both beginner and renewal courses. The grant amounts are as follows:*

Training Beginner course Extension course
ADR certificate Basic € 200,00 € 200,00
ADR certificate Basic + Tank € 220,00 € 220,00
ADR certificate Basic + Tank + Class 1 + Class 7 € 120,00 € 120,00
ADR module Tank € 75,00
ADR modules Classes 1 + 7 € 75,00

How does it work?

A company can only apply for a subsidy if it remits to the SOOB. If so, you can register with the SOOB by creating an account through the SOOB Subsidy Point. Afterwards, you will receive an email with login details. With this personal login, you can then submit a request to reserve the grant amount for a particular course through the same website. In your file, you can then view the status of your application, make any changes and upload additional documents.

What do we do?

If you have already registered a company account on the SOOB Subsidy Point, you can also let us, SCS Training & Consultancy, handle the subsidy application. To do so, enter the employee’s contact email address, Chamber of Commerce number, VAT number and employee number on the SCS Training & Consultancy registration form. You will receive confirmation of your enrollment from STL.

If you already have a company account registered on the SOOB Subsidy Point, you can also let us take care of the grant application

What else do you need to do?

Once the training is completed, you complete the grant file yourself. You do this by adding the following documents to the file:

  • the invoice for the training;
  • the certificate obtained.

Terms

Reserving the SOOB subsidy must be done within a period of three months before the start of the training until no later than the start date of the training itself. Claims must be complete within four months of completion of training. This means that all required data and documents must then be submitted and approved.

Grant disbursement

STL reviews the (completeness of the) claim. Then you will receive a decision regarding whether or not to award the grant. After the grant is determined, the amount will be disbursed by STL within four weeks.
STL is entitled to contact you as an applicant or course participant to complete an evaluation form. Therefore, you must also provide the email address of the course participant.
