ADR training for drivers
Drivers of vehicles transporting dangerous goods above the exemption limits must hold an ADR certificate.
Additional training requirements for tank transport and Class 1 and 7 substances
Drivers of vehicles transporting ADR Class 1 and ADR Class 7 goods or in ADR Tanks must take a specialization course.
Working safely with the ADR/ADR for executives.
Anyone whose job involves the transportation of dangerous goods must receive ADR training commensurate with his/her duties and authority.
This ADR training must consist of the components:
- General awareness raising
- Job-specific training
- Safety Training
- Security regulations
- Transportation requirements for other modes of transportation (if applicable)
Safe loading and unloading of dangerous goods
This ADR training is also based on the topics mentioned above. The training applies, for example, to personnel loading or unloading dangerous goods and to personnel of forwarding or shipping companies. Moreover, this ADR training is intended for drivers of vehicles exempted from holding the ADR certificate.
Security consultant training
This is advanced ADR training. Every company involved in the transportation, packaging, loading, filling or unloading of dangerous goods must appoint one or more safety advisors. The safety advisor must help prevent hazards to persons, property and the environment. He must have received training for this purpose and hold a road transport certificate. There are also courses for Safety Advisor in Inland Waterway and Rail Transportation.
Training requirement for handling of gassed containers
Persons involved in the handling of gassed cargo units must have received training appropriate to their responsibilities.
