Not only logistics companies take training courses at Special Cargo College, it is also a godsend for employment agencies in the logistics sector. Like YoungCapital in Hoofddorp. With many logistics companies around Schiphol as clients, the agency has an ongoing need for well-trained people. Then it’s nice when the training process runs smoothly.

Appropriate courses

Employment agency YoungCapital focuses on side jobs and entry-level jobs, both part-time and full-time, including for the logistics sector. The organization believes it is important to help students and startups discover and develop their potential. “And that includes good appropriate training,” says training coach Julia Starke.

Routine

That’s why YoungCapital has been working with Special Cargo College for logistics training for years, Julia explains. “Our recruiters can book these trainings very easily in Special Cargo‘s training portal. That has since become routine. But also when there is something special, we have a very good contact with the staff of Special Cargo. For example, if a candidate has failed and needs to be re-registered for a course.”

Straight to work

Trainees are also satisfied with Special Cargo’s training courses: “Whether it’s classroom training or e-learnings, they find the offer pleasant and clear. The portal for the e-learnings also works nicely. After registering, they can get started right away. And in the vast majority of cases they pass in one go.”

Air cargo training

Of course, signing up for certain training courses is done in consultation with YoungCapital’s clients. For some regular customers (from shipping and delivery services), by default, everyone who starts in a particular job goes on a course. In particular, these are training courses for working with (dangerous) air cargo, such as IATA 7.2, Awareness of Air Transport Dangerous Goods, and AirCargo Officer (A).

Changing labor market

The People Development department, where Julia works, focuses on the training and educational profile of the temporary workers. “The labor market is changing, and therefore we are changing with it. Also in the field of training. We invest in sustainable employability of our candidates. That is why there is close interaction between us and the recruiters, so that together we continue to optimize the training offer.”

Tightening up

To that end, there is also regular contact with Special Cargo College, Julia said. “Special Cargo then visits us to go over how everything is going, whether everyone is happy, and whether things can be tightened up. Recently there were some changes in the training portal. Special Cargo proposed to go through this together with the users from YoungCapital and gather any additional input. So you guys think along very well!”
