Last week, the Hazardous Substances Publication Series (Publicatiereeks Gevaarlijke Stoffen or PGS) published the long-awaited final version of PGS 37-2: the new guideline for safe storage of lithium energy carriers, or lithium batteries. As the knowledge leader in this field, Special Cargo has ensured that our training course “PGS 37-2 Storage of Lithium-Energy Carriers” is already in line with the new directive. The next edition of this training is already at the end of November. So sign up and be the first to learn how to operate fully under the new rules.
Brand new training
When we faced the new version of the PGS 37-2, we immediately got to work. Our PGS 37-2 experts have gone through the new guideline from front to back, mapping out all the changes and incorporating them into our training courses and teaching materials. The result: a brand new and very up-to-date three-day training course, in which you will learn everything you need to know about safely applying the definitive guideline. And you can take this training right now!
Environment Act
The final PGS 37-2 does not yet have a legal status, as it has not yet been included in the Decree on Activities in the Living Environment (Bal) and is therefore not yet linked to the Environment Act. Thus, the PGS 37-2 will certainly not take effect right along with the Environment Act – which will take effect Jan. 1, 2024. But …
Sometimes already mandatory
… the final directive can be applied now. In fact, in some cases this is already required by the competent authority, for example in the form of customization requirements, when submitting an activity notification or a new permit application. So the sooner you are ready, the better it is.
